VELANO — children's products built on experience

VELANO is a Ukrainian trade mark for children's products: strollers, high chairs, travel cots, playpens, bed guards, car seats and boosters. The mark is registered in Ukraine (certificate No. 389852), and the brand is developed, imported and backed by WEST SALE GROUP LLC of Lviv. Behind the brand is a team with more than 12 years in the children's category.

A child grows — and the product grows with them

VELANO is not a single shelf but the whole route. A stroller and a travel cot are needed from day one. A high chair — once the baby can sit. A playpen and a bed guard — once they start walking and sleeping in their own bed. A car seat — the entire time, from 40 to 150 cm.

Child's age in months — taken from each model's specification data. An arrow means the manufacturer sets no upper age limit, only a maximum weight.

For playpens and the bed guard the manufacturer sets no age limits — so we do not invent any. Each model card gives the dimensions — the play area for a playpen, the guard itself for a bed guard — so you can compare them against your own bed and room.

How VELANO arrived at a trade mark of its own

A children's brand does not start with a logo — it starts with people who already know exactly where a product breaks. VELANO was created by a team that had spent more than 12 years in the children's category, and every stage added one concrete skill: first understanding a factory from the inside, then building a network of shops, then hearing what buyers really ask, and only then writing the specification ourselves.

  1. Footwear in LvivLeather footwear made at Lviv factories. This is where the things you cannot read in a catalogue came from: how a material behaves after a year of wear, and why a product is ruined not by its construction but by one small detail.
  2. Children's footwear distributionWorking with manufacturers and selling wholesale across Ukraine. This is the origin of the partner network of shops and of the habit of hearing the market from the people who stand behind the counter every day.
  3. Children's productsStrollers, high chairs, travel cots, car seats. Category expertise: which questions parents ask before buying and where they most often get it wrong.
  4. The VELANO trade markWe stopped choosing from someone else's catalogue and started writing the technical brief ourselves: frame, fabrics, fixings, contents, price.

What grew out of it

The easiest way to check how a brand is developing is not words but the things you can count. This page calculates these figures from our own data, so they cannot quietly go out of date.

  1. 18 models in 47 colour variants, 7 categories — from a stroller and a travel cot for a newborn to a booster for a schoolchild.
  2. Dedicated brand pages in the national retail chains — Rozetka, Epicentr, Foxtrot: the mark has its own section there, not single listings scattered among other brands.
  3. 9 official manufacturer's manuals in PDF, 20 video reviews and 8 guides for parents — free, no sign-up.
  4. Every colour is a separate page with its own article number and barcode: stock is tracked down to the variant, not roughly by model.
  5. The site is available in four languages — Ukrainian, Russian, English and Polish.

Today VELANO is produced at vetted partner factories to our own specification. We select those partners in person at industry trade fairs in Asia and Europe: we handle the samples ourselves and check whether a factory really specialises in its own category instead of making everything at once — after every trip the list grows. The mark grew inside the distribution company Selfy — that is where the experience, the partner network and the market knowledge come from.

You can touch us before you buy

The simplest way to check a brand is to see the product before buying it. VELANO is not sold online only: every dot on this map is a real partner shop where you can walk in, open the box, fold a stroller with one hand, set a high chair to the height of your own table and try a car seat in your own car.

Safety: what exactly is approved — and how to check it yourself

In children's products the word “safe” is worth nothing without a document or a detail you can see. So we speak about each category separately — and show you where to check.

  • VELANO car seats and boosters are approved to UN R129/03 — the current European standard that replaced the old R44 and sizes a seat by the child's height rather than by weight.
  • Every seat carries an orange label with the approval number, the height range and the permitted installation methods. Turn the seat over in the shop and read it — that label is the document.
  • In strollers and high chairs the child is held by 5-point harnesses — all six models in these two categories have them. Travel cots are about something else: a side entry and compact folding; playpens, about mesh walls you can see through. The specification limits are given in every model card — a stroller from birth to 15 kg, a high chair to 15–20 kg depending on the model, a travel cot 0–24 months and up to 15 kg. If a child is past the limit, the product is no longer theirs, and we say so plainly rather than in small print.
  • Each of the 7 categories has its own list of warnings rather than one generic set: the rules for a high chair and for a playpen are different, and we do not substitute one for the other. Where a manufacturer's manual exists, the wording is taken from it word for word.
  • We publish the original manufacturer's manuals in PDF — 9 documents, and not only for car seats: they include the Nomi and Basic high chairs and the Flexi travel cot. Free, no sign-up, before you buy.

How a VELANO product is born

We do not take a finished item from a factory catalogue and print a logo on it. Every model starts from our own specification — and that is what separates the brand from ordinary private label.

  1. 01Study the demandWe look at what buyers ask for and what shops are missing — a product is created for a real need, not for a factory's catalogue.
  2. 02Write the specificationFrame, fabrics, hardware, fixings, contents, packaging — all fixed in a document before production starts.
  3. 03Choose the factoryNot a plant that makes everything at once, but a maker that specialises in this exact category.
  4. 04Approve the reference sampleThe agreed sample — the golden sample — becomes the yardstick: every production batch is checked against it before shipping.
  5. 05Collect feedbackWhat shops and buyers say after launch goes into the specification for the next batch.
The loop is closed: feedback returns into the specification instead of sitting in an inbox.

There is one document we deliberately did not publish: the manual a factory supplied for one of the models described a different fixing from the one actually fitted to the product. Rather than post just any PDF, we left the slot empty and are waiting for the correct one. We arrive at a factory with our own product instead of taking a ready-made one — the name on the box is ours, and so is the responsibility.

Why VELANO costs less than the big imported brands

The question deserves a straight answer, because in children's products a low price worries people more than it attracts them. The answer is simple: the saving comes from the supply chain, not from the product itself.

Where we save

  • on the chain of resellers — we work with factories directly and import ourselves;
  • on mass advertising — we do not buy TV campaigns or brand ambassadors;
  • on a retail chain of our own — we sell through partners instead of our own shops.

Where we do not

  • on meeting the standard — a car seat either holds R129/03 approval or it does not travel; in the other categories, on the parts that carry the load: frame, fixings, wheel brakes, harness buckle;
  • on the materials in the zones that touch the child — fabric, harness, buckle, cover;
  • on what is in the box — the contents are as promised and checked against the reference sample;
  • on documents — the official manufacturer's PDF goes on the site before you buy; there are 9 of them today, and the list grows with every new batch.

You are not left alone after the purchase

A product usually disappoints not because it is bad but because it was assembled or installed incorrectly: the manual was lost or never understood. So we hand over the documents, videos and guides in advance — and not only for car seats.

Frequently asked questions

Is VELANO a Ukrainian brand? Who owns it?

Yes. VELANO is a trade mark registered in Ukraine (certificate No. 389852). The brand is developed, imported and backed by WEST SALE GROUP LLC, registration number 43354484, Lviv — the same company owns this website. This is not an anonymous marketplace item: a specific Ukrainian company stands behind it.

Is VELANO only car seats?

No. Car seats and boosters are 7 models out of 18 — less than half the catalogue. The rest are strollers (from birth, up to 15 kg), high chairs (from 6 months), travel cots (0–24 months), playpens and bed guards. Together that is 7 categories and 47 colour variants — all of them in the catalogue, with video reviews and, where a manufacturer's manual exists, with a PDF.

Are the car seats really approved, and what does R129/03 mean?

VELANO car seats and boosters are approved to UN R129/03 — the current European standard that sizes a seat by the child's height rather than by weight and requires a side-impact test. The approval number is printed on the orange label on the product itself, so you can read it in the shop. There is more about the standards on the “Safety” page.

Where do I get a manual if I have lost the printed one?

On the “Manuals” page — original manufacturer's manuals in PDF, free and without registration. If your model is not there yet, write to us and we will send it by email.
